Twellium, in partnership with Implementers, carried out an afforestation exercise at Adjen Kotoku Presbyterian Basic School as part of the 2026 edition of its #GreenWithTwellium environmental sustainability initiative.

The programme featured environmental education sessions led by representatives from the Forestry Commission, Twellium, and Implementers. The sessions focused on promoting environmental sustainability, encouraging tree planting, and cultivating an eco-conscious mindset among students and the wider school community.

Delivering a speech on behalf of the General Manager, Mohammad Kawtharani, the Communications Manager, Daniel Abugre Anyorigya, stated:

“We were encouraged by the school’s commitment to creating a greener environment through the trees already growing on its compound. That dedication inspired our decision to support your efforts by donating gardening tools, protective tree cages, and planting additional seedlings.”

He further stated that, “at Twellium, we believe that meaningful environmental change begins with collective action, and schools play a vital role in shaping the next generation of environmental stewards. Our commitment goes beyond planting trees, we are dedicated to ensuring that these seedlings are nurtured to maturity through continuous care and collaboration with the school and our partners.

We hope these trees will grow to become lasting symbols of discipline, resilience, and our shared responsibility to protect the environment. As they flourish, they will serve as a living reminder that every small action taken today contributes to a healthier and more sustainable future for generations to come.”

As part of the initiative, Twellium donated farm and gardening tools, along with tree cages, to the school to support the nurturing and protection of the newly planted seedlings and strengthen the school’s conservation efforts.

Speaking on behalf of Implementers, Nancy Neizer Blessing emphasized that every environmental conservation effort matters, regardless of its scale.

“No conservation effort is too small. We will continue to follow up on the trees through regular monitoring and evaluation to ensure they thrive. We have also instituted an award for the group of students who demonstrate the greatest commitment to nurturing their trees.”

The exercise forms part of Twellium’s broader commitment to environmental sustainability, climate action, and community engagement by empowering young people to become active stewards of the environment.
