Twellium, in collaboration with Mayekoo and its partners, removed more than 50 tonnes of waste from Ananse Beach at Nungua during World Cleanup Day 2026.

As part of Twellium’s ongoing commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the company partners with organizations to advance coastal restoration efforts.

With the support of 500 volunteers, the cleanup drive focused on collecting plastic and other waste along the coastline to combat marine pollution and foster a cleaner coastal environment.

Speaking on behalf of the General Manager, Mohammed Kwatharani, Mr. Daniel Abugre Anyorigya said: “Cleaner beaches are a shared responsibility. We are proud to stand with our partners and the Nungua community to restore this coastline. For Twellium, sustainability means showing up and taking practical action where it matters.”

The cleanup attracted participation from organisations including the Ghana Recycling Initiative by Private Enterprises (GRIPE), Clifton Homes Ghana, American Chamber of Commerce Ghana (AMCHAM Ghana), CMA CGM Ghana, GUBA Foundation, Reiss & Co. (Ghana) Ltd., AIESEC Alumni Ghana, Las Palmas Food Centre Limited and the Krowor Municipal Assembly.

Other participating organisations included the Rugby League Federation Ghana, Infonimedia, Ghana Wildlife Society, German International School, Unilever Ghana, Accra Excel Lions Club and the All-Africa Students Union (AASU).
